The history teacher is having a lesson, but Tom is thinking about other things. The teacher asks, "Tom, do you know who is the first president of the United States?"

Tom stands up, but he can't answer this question.

"Oh, I'm sorry," says Tom, "I thought you called another student."

So the teacher gets angry and shouts, "George Washington!"

Tom sits down.

"Stand up!" the teacher says angrily, "I don't let you sit down."
